Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pension, Dr. Akintola Benson-Oke has disclosed that the ongoing “One Lagos Fiesta” is another demonstration that the Governor Ambode-led administration is working assiduously to improve the well-being and welfare of all Lagosians.
Speaking with newsmen at Ikorodu, one of the venues of the ongoing One Lagos Fiesta (OLF), Benson-Oke stated that the decentralization of the annual Fiesta was a clear demonstration of his will to run an all-inclusive government in which all segments of the society would be well catered for.
According to him, OLF in Ikorodu Division was historic in that no administration, since the creation of Lagos State, had demonstrated this level of passion for the grassroots.
He said that youths needed to be patient and exercise faith in the present administration because the positive results of its programmes and policies like the OLF, Skill Acquisition Programme, Youths Employability Skills and the N25 billion Wealth Creation and Employment Fund would take some time to manifest.
The commencement of the much anticipated second edition of the Fiesta which kicked off simultaneously in five locations – Lagos Island, Agege, Epe, Ikorodu and Badagry – witnessed a large turnout of fun-loving Lagosians in all the venues of the event.
Meanwhile, Lagosians have continued to shower encomiums on the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for his foresight in expanding the fiesta to other areas of the State as well as making it bigger and better by incorporating the Talent Hunt and Kiddies’ Corner.
