ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY MR. AKINWUNMI AMBODE, GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE AT THE COMMISSIONING OF LAGOS-OGUN STATE BOUNDARY NETWORK OF 21 ROADS (LOCATION 1- NEW AYETORO BRIDGE) IN ALIMOSHO LOCAL GOVERNMENT ON MONDAY,2ND APRIL, 2018

PROTOCOLS

Around this time last year, when we commissioned the Aboru Bridge, our government promised the people of Alimosho that we would rehabilitate and expand the road network around the Ikola and Ishefun Axis.

The Lagos-Ogun State boundary Network of 21 Roads is a project initiated by our government towards the integration of the people of the two States especially those living in communities close to Ogun State but working in our State.

The Bridge at Ayetoro will link Itele and the many neighbouring communities in Ogun State while the one at Ikola links Otta with other communities. These infrastructure will improve connectivity within the area, reduce the loss of man hours, reduce maintenance cost on vehicles, boost trade, commerce, and increase investment opportunities which will in turn create direct and indirect employment.

The delivery of these projects before the deadline attests to our determination and commitment to make life better for the people of Alimosho, by channeling the State’s resources to this axis for the provision of basic infrastructure that will catalyze economic growth and social change, as well as create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

In our three years in office, our government has placed emphasis on projects that will affect the wellbeing of the general public. This project is a clear example of a project with a high social impact.

I commend the State Ministry of Works and the Contractors for this project for delivering this project in record time further encouraging us to patronise our indigenous contractors.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, our responsibility as a government is to secure lives and property and make life better for our people. We remain committed to this assignment which you have given us. We will always channel all our resources to building the Lagos of our dreams; a Lagos we will all be proud to bequeath to the future generations.

We urge you all to keep faith with our government and continue to support us as you have always done so that together, we can propel our dear State to the position of a globally recognized and respected smart City.

Thank you and God bless.
