. . . As Permanent Secretary Leads Management Team to Eko Atlantic City Office
The Office of the Surveyor-General of Lagos State has witnessed an upsurge in patronage and inquiries about its activities that will ensure landowners in the State, do not fall victim to fraudulent practices of speculators.
A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary/Surveyor General of Lagos State, Surv. Olutomi Sangowawa, attributed the increased patronage to the confidence of the public in the improved efficient services rendered by his office.
Surv. Sangowawa pointed out that the recent visit by a team from the Secretariat of the Governor’s Forum drew public attention to the relevance of his office in the perfection of landed property in Lagos State, just as it affirmed that other States were interested in learning how the Office of the Surveyor-General carried out its impressive service delivery.
“The Secretariat of the Governor’s Office visited us and were taken through our processes to acquire first-hand knowledge on trends that have made Lagos excel. Our performance can be attributed to the digital technology adopted to ensure accuracy in our mapping and other related survey matters. We will not rest on our oars and will even surpass the standards that have made us outstanding amongst States in Nigeria”, the Surveyor-General said.
Advising Lagosians to embrace patronage of services rendered by the Office of the Surveyor-General to avoid falling prey to fraudsters, Surv. Sangowawa maintained that the office should be the first point of call for enquiries in respect of land and charting information as well as investigations relating to transactions on any parcel of land within the State.
He reiterated that staffers will not relent in efforts to ensure accuracy in the mapping information availed clients and provision of accurate information to stakeholders in all land transfer transactions, assuring that staffers will continue to display professionalism and expertise in their interactions with members of the public.
In the same vein, the Surveyor-General led his management team on a visit to the Managing Director of Eko Atlantic City, Mr. David Frame, in his office on Victoria Island, to exchange ideas on issues of mutual interest to both organisations.
The visit was in furtherance of a partnership between the Office of the Surveyor-General and the promoters of Eko Atlantic City to ensure that all property within the landscape have accurate and valid survey plans.
Surv. Sangowawa stated that his office, as the official surveyor of the project, embarked on the visit for further interaction with officials of Eko Atlantic City to foster a seamless relationship between all stakeholders in the first-of-its-kind project in Africa.
He maintained that Eko Atlantic City is not a replica of Dubai or any city in the world but a unique megacity built on new ideas and innovation for a Greater Lagos that is environmentally friendly and sustainable.
