BOS ADMINISTRATION ACHIEVEMENTS (2019-DATE)
HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT.
HEALTH
• Completed and commissioned Epe Mother and Child Center (MCC)
• Completed and commissioned Eti-Osa Mother and Child Center (MCC), Ajah.
• Completed and commissioned Badagry Mother and Child Center (MCC).
• Inaugurated Igando Mother and Child Centers (MCCs).
• Reconstruction of the New Massey’s Street Children Hospital on course. When completed, it will be the biggest Children Hospital in Africa.
• Comprehensive renovation of public health facilities ongoing at the Ebute-Meta Health Centre, Harvey Road Health Centre, General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, General Hospital, Isolo and Ketu-Ejirin Health Centre.
• New health facilities such as the Permanent 300 Bed Isolation Centre, Yaba, Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba, Infectious Diseases Research Institute, Yaba Doctors’ Quarters, and Gbagada among others are billed for construction.
• Supported 15 families of Persons Living With Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome with financial assistance of N1million to N2.5million each
• Activated one Oxygen Plant at Yaba for COVID-19
• Established 10 Tri and Oxygen Centres
• Treated over 250, 000 Lagosians freely via the partnership with BOSKOH Health Mission International and the Benjamin Olowojebutu Foundation.
• The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) inaugurated new centres across the state.
• Revamped the Jigi Bola initiative
ENVIRONMENT
• 96 primary drainage channels were cleared across the state, 222 secondary channels were also worked on, out of which 146 have been completed, while 76 are ongoing.
• The Dr. Oluyomi Abayomi Finnih Recreational Park, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos was completed and commissioned.
• Commissioned a mini-effluent treatment plant that would determine toxicity before being released into the atmosphere.
• Emergency Flood Abatement Gang (EFAG) successfully maintained, cleaned and de-flooded 66 (nos.) highways secondary collector drains and de-flooded several areas across the State
• 192 secondary collectors spread across the 20 Local Government Councils and 37 Local Council Development Areas.
• 44(nos.) new Collectors drain under construction at Abraham Adesanya Collector Drain/Dredging of System 63, Lekki Expressway to de-flood Abraham Adesanya Estate, Lekki Expressway, Ogombo and its adjoining areas, the Freedom way Channel, Lekki, the Fish Farm Collector Drain, Ikorodu, the Edun Alaran Collector Drain and Orchid road Collector Drains off Lekki-Epe Expressway.
• LAWMA Academy was inaugurated to promote environmental cleanliness.
• The Olusosun Dumpsite was expanded to 42 acres to accommodate more waste and ensure that trucks can have a quicker turnaround time.
• LAWMA began a Lagos at 4am programme aimed at stemming the tide of indiscriminate waste disposal.
• LAWMA acquired a Briquette facility, which can process about 1,700 kg of sawdust per hour, in Agbowa (Ikorodu Division).
• LAWMA launched the Lagos State Blue Box Recycling.
• LAWMA achieved significant improvement in collection and disposal of solid waste, raising the capacity of PSP operators from 320 compactor trips to 700 compactor trips daily
• LAWMA launched an Own a bin initiative recently mandating all tenements to acquire and own waste bins (240L household plastic wheeler bins).
• LASPARK regenerated the Outer Marina Park, restoring it to its previous beautiful and aesthetically pleasing state.
• LASPARK commenced the landscaping and beautification of Opebi–Toyin Street Triangular Layby.
• LASPARK also began the beautification of the perimeter area of the decommissioned dumpsite at Abule-Egba.
• LASPARK re-modelled and upgraded the garden at Ebute Ipakodo, Ikorodu into a Recreational Park.
• LASAA Launched the 2020 Mobile Advert Stickers to enhance a more effective regulatory process for mobile advertisement
• LASAA successfully processed and registered applicants wishing to practice outdoor advertising within the state as New Outdoor Advertising Practitioners.
