EKO NAFEST 2022: CLOSING CEREMONY TO HOLD ON SUNDAY AT MOBOLAJI JOHNSON ARENA, ONIKAN
The 35th edition of the National Arts and Culture Festival 2022 (NAFEST) will on Sunday, 13th of November 2022 come to a close at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan where winners of the various competitions would be announced.
A release by the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm. (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf on Saturday said the week-long cultural festival hosted by the Lagos State government through the Ministry played host to delegations from 29 participating states across the country for the 2022 EKO NAFEST with the theme: “Culture and Peaceful Co-Existence”.
She said the event, which was officially declared open on Wednesday, November 9, by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu would also be declared closed by the Governor in front of eminent personalities and culture enthusiasts at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Akinbile-Yussuf also revealed that winners of the various competitions, such as traditional games, parade, archery, children’s crafts, essay writing, indigenous fashion and fabric, visual arts and interior decoration among others, held during the festival would be announced at the closing ceremony and presented with their gift items.
“Also, the next host State for the 36th edition of the annual event would be announced by the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe at the closing ceremony of the Eko Nafest 2022 on Sunday”, the Commissioner added.
Recall that the opening ceremony of the event had in attendance the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; representatives of State Governors; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe among other dignitaries.
