ALARA OF ILARA MARKS THIRD ANNIVERSARY

… Commends LASG on Development in Ilara

HRM Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the 55th Alara of the Ilara Kingdom and Alara in Council, Lagos, on Saturday, celebrated his Third Anniversary on the throne of his forefathers.

Oba Ogunsanwo, speaking during the ceremony held in his Palace at Epe, said the Lagos State Government has been wonderful in the development of not just the Ilara Kingdom but the entire state.

In his words, “The Lagos State Government under the administration of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat has been wonderful, and they have been working effortlessly towards the development of the entire state and am sure the people of Lagos will not regret voting them for a second term”.

However, the Monarch charged the government to continue its good work, especially in the face of the current situation in the country where the economy is not thriving as expected and as such the people of Lagos need both moral and logistic support to be able to succeed.

While thanking God for helping the community in its development, Oba Ogunsanwo stated that upon installation as the Oba three years ago, he promised his subjects that he would bring the community up to speed to be able to compete with other developed communities, adding that so far, the growth and development of Ilara is evident in the areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Empowerment and Infrastructure among others.

“Part of the activities for today’s ceremony is to show appreciation to those who have contributed to the progress and development of our community. We will confer a Chieftaincy title on Dr Bisi Olusanya, the MD of First Bank Nigeria, as the Akilogun of Ilara. He worked alongside the Rotary club in building a well furnished Model Primary School here in Ilara; also Otunba Yemi Lawal, a real estate developer, who has invested so much in Epe Division, will be recognized with the title of Obadara of Ilara kingdom alongside their wives.

“We will also bestow Ikeji-Ilu of Ilara, a traditional recognition title, on High Chief Balogun Kazeem Adeoye, who will be second in command to me. All these are geared towards promoting peace and unity and to further aid community development”.

“Finally, we will not relent in ensuring that we keep our youths occupied, by doing all in our capacity to make them self-reliant and become useful to their parents and the community. I need everyone to keep praying for me, to remain steadfast, diligent, resilient and committed to towards achieving all our goals”, he stated.

One of the dignitaries at the event, Oba Almeed Adejoro, the Olu of Araranmi, Elerongbe of Ibeju-Lekki, showered encomium on the Monarch, describing him as a man of integrity who values the effort of others in community development and rewarding them accordingly.

Speaking further, Oba Almeed thanked the State Government for recognising Isese Day, noting that the forthcoming Isese celebration will make people around the world know how much we value our tradition and even attract foreigners to explore our cultural heritage.

The Otun Iyalaje of Ilara Kingdom, Mrs. Talabi Kikelomo prayed for long life and a successful reign for HRM Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the 55th Alara of Ilara Kingdom and Alara in Council.
