LASG MEETS TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS ON TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN LAGOS STATE 


The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Ganiat Oloruntoyin Atekoja has met with Tourism Stakeholders in Lagos State at a forum organised by the Ministry and held at the Conference Room of the Ministry.


Speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary said the aim of the forum is to discuss and deliberate on various issues affecting tourism development in Lagos State 


Atekoja posited that Lagos is lucky with a vast array of tourism resources including stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, cultural heritage sites and beautiful beaches that can be tapped into to create job opportunities for the teeming masses. 

She urged the stakeholders not to relent in their collaboration with the State Government and also come up with more lofty ideas to move the industry forward.


In her words “We must work together to create a sustainable and inclusive Tourism industry that will not only benefit us today but also for generations to come”.


Also speaking at the event, the State Coordinator for the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Mrs. Ime Udoh, who led the Stakeholders to the meeting said the initiative by the new Permanent Secretary is highly commendable and that a continuous collaboration with Stakeholders is one of the ways to move Tourism forward in Lagos State.


The meeting also had in attendance the Coordinator of FTAN Southwest Vice President, Mr. Tunde Kolade; Chairman, Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon; Media Guru Mr. Frank Meke and Prince Femi Fadina amongst others
