The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) has officially welcomed its 2024/2025 cohort, marking the start of their transformative leadership journey.
As part of their orientation, the Fellows attended an onboarding session, where they were introduced to the Academy’s vision, core values, and guiding principles.
The Executive Secretary of LJLA, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade warmly welcomed the fellows and shared an insightful overview of the Academy’s mission and goals, drawing from her own leadership experiences.
In her address, she stressed the importance of tenacity, encouraging the fellows to remain steadfast in the face of challenges as they refine their leadership skills.
“You must see yourselves as ambassadors of this Academy and lead with integrity and selflessness” she urged, inspiring the fellows to meet the high expectations of the Fellowship programme.
She also highlighted the Academy’s pivotal role in developing future leaders and encouraged them to adopt a service-driven mindset.
After her address, representatives from key departments within the Academy presented their roles and explained how their collaborative efforts support the Academy’s mission of cultivating a new generation of well-rounded, innovative, and ethical leaders.
To further prepare them for the journey ahead, the fellows participated in the YES+ (Youth Empowerment Seminar+) Wellness Programme. This comprehensive course, which includes breathing techniques, yoga, meditation, and practical wisdom, equips them with tools to navigate modern challenges, fostering mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
