Lagos State Government has commenced its IBILE YOUTH ACADEMY leadership training for youths in the five divisions of the state with a promise to make the exercise a life changing experience for all its paricipants from Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe areas of the State.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the five-day training programme in EPE, the State Commissioner for Youth and Social development, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, said the IBILE Youth Academy (IYA) has been specifically designed to instill in youths valuable traits and entrepreneurial skills.
She said that the initiative is all about assisting the youths chart a path for progressive and prosperous adult life, adding that the Academy would provide lifetime opportunities for youth across the State to discover their inate abilities and how to optimize their gifts and channel it to the right path.
She appealed to all the 500 participants to imbibe good values, by being discipline and punctual while also showing active participation during the period of the training and to explore the opportunity of social interaction which the platform affords them.
The training is expected to expose the participants to Self Discovery, Volunteerism, Goal Setting, Creative Thinking Skills, Review of Lagos State Youth Policy, Team Building, Effective Communication and Public Speaking Skills, Environmental Responsibilities, Sex, Sexuality and Relationships among others.
