The Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts recently hosted school children in Lagos Island East and Lagos Island West LCDA to Sallah celebrations at the 6th edition of its monthly programme tagged ‘Echoes from Tinubu Square’.
Speaking at the celebration, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts, Mr. Agboola Dabiri said Lagos State Government recognizes children as future leaders in the society and therefore always engaged them in folklores, tales and funfair during the holiday season and festive periods.
“We the need to continually engage our children positively and constructively in both academic and non-academic activities during the holiday and festive periods rather than allow the children to roam the streets or hawk wares on the roads” the Special Adviser said.
He said the choice of the venue for “Echoes from Tinubu Square” is to allow school children to continually remember our past heroes and imbibe the good virtues of great Nigerians like Madam Tinubu.
Dabiri revealed that hosting the monthly event at Tinubu Squarekeeps the area around the fountain and prevents infrastructure decay that might result from inactivity and neglect.
While wishing the children and their families a happy Sallah celebration, he urged the school children to be good ambassadors of their families and obey their parents at all times.
