The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business Districts (CBD), Mr. Agboola Dabiri has said that there is a need for all government agencies and security operatives to harmonise their operations in the Lagos Central Business District.
The Special Adviser stated this at a One-Day Harmonization and Sensitization workshop tagged:“Effective Team Work among Government Security, Traffic, Health and Emergency Agencies in Lagos”, and organized by the government for Security Agencies and other stakeholders operating within the Lagos Island Central Business District.
He explained that all government agencies must see themselves as one and must be fully ready to ensure that hitches and other security challenges associated with the high influx of shoppers and traders into the island usually experienced towards the end of the year are curtailed and well managed.
Dabiri maintained that all agencies of government must work in harmony and unity of purpose to attain the desired goals of making shopping and trading on the island stress-free.
The Special Adviser noted that over 3 million shoppers and traders commute the Lagos Island daily, adding that the high influx of people brings with it attendant security threat, waste, traffic and emergency issues which can not be effectively handled by one agency.
He revealed that from November 1, 2017, CBD in conjunction with other government agencies will embark on massive joint patrol of the CBD to ensure that traffic and security challenges are addressed.
