The Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Kweku Adedayo Tandoh has expressed his gratitude to the people of Lagos State for being a part of the success story of the 3rd Edition of the Lagos City Marathon.
Tandoh said he was overwhelmed with the success of the event which was won by Kenyan born, Abraham Kiprotich, adding that the huge success recorded could not have been possible without the support of all and sundry.
He also commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for committing the machinery of the State to ensure the success of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Bronze label event.
“In line with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s vision to make Lagos hub of Sports in Africa and a choice destination of Tourism and Hospitality, I want to assure Lagosians of more Sporting activities of an International standard”, Tandoh stated.
The Chairman informed that preparation for the next year’s edition of the Lagos City Marathon which will hold on Saturday, 9th February 2019, will commence soon.
