In a bid to develop its staff and ensure effective execution of the task of consumer protection in the State, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has organized in-house training for its personnel.
According to the General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode, the training which is one of the series of programmes that staff of the Agency would be exposed to, was necessary to equip them for effective execution of their duties.
She noted that every consumer in Lagos State has rights to protection from hazardous and unsatisfactory goods and services, noting that the Agency was established to ensure that the rights of consumers in Lagos State are protected in their daily business transactions.
Members of the LASCOPA Board were present at the training session to shed light on their expectations from personnel of the Agency as well as share their experiences in Consumer Protection activities.
Some of the sessions at the training dwelt on topics like – “The Role of Standards in Consumer Protection” and “Consumer Rights and Responsibilities of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency” among others.
