Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the rights of all consumers are protected, just as the Agency inspected the facility and production process of Kellogg Tolaram, makers of Kellogg’s Cornflakes, at the Lagos Free Trade Zone.
Speaking after the inspection tour, necessitated by a viral video which claimed that the quality of Kellogg’s Cornflakes has declined, the General Manager, LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode, declared that the State government would stop at nothing to ensure that consumers’ rights are protected across Lagos.
According to her, the State is resolute in its determination to ensure that consumers not only get value for their money but help every complainant to seek redress whenever their rights are infringed upon.
She said LASCOPA embarked on the inspection tour as a follow-up to the viral video’s claims and further investigation and engagement the Company’s management.
While noting that the Agency will still carry out more investigations before reaching a conclusion on the issue, Olugbode informed that the Consumer Education Unit of the Agency would continue to embark on sensitization campaigns as part of the efforts to educate consumers on their rights.
She urged consumers to take advantage of the services of the Agency and reach out to LASCOPA whenever their rights are infringed upon.
Earlier in her remarks the General Manager of Kellogg Tolaram, Mrs. Vani Malik said that her company gives priority attention to issues of consumer satisfaction.
She said that International standards were observed in the production of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes which according to her, has become the delight of their consumers.
