The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has concluded payment of outstanding allowances to the last batch of ad-hoc personnel engaged by the Commission for the conduct of the last elections into the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the State.

The delay in payment of the ad-hoc personnel resulted from submission of incorrect bank account details to the Commission among other issues that necessitated further scrutiny by the Commission to guard against making payments to wrong persons.

The payment of the allowances took place at six designated centres – Alimosho  LGA, Oshodi/Isolo LGA, Epe LGA, Lagos Island LGA, Otto – Awori LCDA and the Headquarters of the Commission at Yaba – between Wednesdays, 20th and Thursday 21st June, 2018 under the direct supervision of Electoral Commissioners of the Commission.

Affected ad-hoc personnel were required to present verifiable means of identification to guard against fraudulent practices and ensure that people who actually worked for the Commission during the elections got paid for their services.
