The Lagos State Office of the Public Defender (OPD) is set to launch an awareness campaign on the free legal service rendered to the less privileged members of the State with focus on the socio-economic rights of women, children and persons living with disabilities.
The campaign, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 26th June, 2018 at the Palace of Oba Onigando of Igando by 10.00am, is aimed at sensitizing the people of Alimosho Local Government particularly Igando Community and its environs as well as carry out a legal Clinic in the area.
The campaign awareness cum legal clinic seeks to reawaken the public about the new Laws enacted by Lagos State Government to protect their rights.
Expected at the event are Market Women/Men, Community Leaders, Executives of the Community Development Area and the public in general.
Recall that the Office of the Public Defender (OPD) was established in the Year 2000 to serve as an agency of the Lagos State Government saddled with the responsibility of providing legal aid and other related functions to the masses, especially the less privileged and vulnerable.
