LASG COMMITTED TO WEALTH CREATION FOR LAGOSIANS

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to creating wealth for Lagosians with the implementation of various strategies to engender the development of entrepreneurship in the State.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the trainees of Betti O School of Fashion, the State Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said the training is in conformity with the vision to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to create wealth in Lagos State.

 

She added that the present administration identifies the development of entrepreneurship which transcends seeking for white collar job opportunities but transforming the perceived problem to opportunities that will give birth to new businesses.

 

Akinbile-Yussuf stated that “The training for the youth in Betti O School of Fashion is aimed at assisting in the creation of the next generation of leading Entrepreneurs in the fashion world with a mindset for innovation to address one of the needs of our global community”.

 

“The six months training sponsored by the Lagos State Government must not be wasted, make good use of your training. This is your Foundation into the fashion world, go ahead and learn more about these life skills that you have acquired in order to have a competitive edge. Make Lagos State government proud for giving you this important foundation knowledge”, the Commissioner said.

 

While urging the trainees to take advantage of the vast untapped opportunities present in the State, she noted that participants can source grants designed for start-ups from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

 

The founder of Betti Okuboyejo Foundation, Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi thanked the State Government for investing heavily in the youths and charged the beneficiaries to hold tightly to the high standards of the profession taught during the training.

In her words “The world is yours, you have been trained and skilled, go forth and conquer as worthy ambassadors of Lagos State”.
