In continuation of the clean-up exercise of Lagos Island, the Office of the Special Adviser on Central Business Districts embarked on the evacuation of refuse on Apongbon bridge, Lagos Island and environs.
Speaking during the exercise, the Special Adviser, Mr. Olarenwaju Elegushi said the continuous clean-up exercise was to ensure a healthy and serene environment for business to thrive in the Lagos Central Business District.
He enjoined Lagosians to cultivate the culture of bagging refuse and disposing them at the appropriate bins rather than dumping indiscriminately on walkways and road setbacks.
Elegushi said CBD operatives, in conjunction with security agencies, have started monitoring of the business district to arrest those who engage in the habit of dumping refuse indiscriminately in the streets and drainages.
He declared that his Office will not relent in its efforts at ensuring that the business district is clean, safe and conducive for business transactions and leisure.
