In order to foster the goals of the Office of the Public Defender (OPD), which is to render free legal services to residents, the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender is set to carry out an awareness campaign and free Legal Clinic at Oshodi Local Government Area.
The Awareness Campaign/Legal Clinic is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 27th November, 2018 at the Council Secretariat, Oshodi.
The purpose of embarking on the awareness campaign is to further sensitise the people in the environs about the activities of OPD as well as conduct a free Legal Clinic to reawaken the public about the new laws enacted by Lagos State Government to preserve their Rights and that of the vulnerable.
Earlier, the Office had organised such activities in different parts of the State, the most recent being those held at Lagos Island Local Government and Bariga Local Council Development Areas.
Recall that the Office of the Public Defender (OPD) was established by Lagos State Government to render free legal services to the less privileged members of the State with focus on the socio-economic rights of Women, Children and Persons with Disability.
