Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has scheduled the
bye-election into the vacant Councillorship seat in Ward C (Owode Orile
Ward), Bariga Local Council Development Area of the State for Tuesday,
18th December 2018.
disclosure was made today during a visit of LASIEC officials to the two
Baales in the affected ward to solicit their support and cooperation in
ensuring peaceful conduct of the election.
on behalf of the Commission, Chief (Mrs) Toyin Ibrahim-Famakinwa
explained that the Commission decided to visit the traditional rulers
due to their enormous influence over their subjects and also to seek assistance towards ensuring harmony and peace before, during and after the election.
however, warned that the Commission would not condone any act of
lawlessness that could cause a breach of the peace and threaten the
credibility of the electoral process.
