Alimosho General Hospital, Igando has formally launched a formulary as an aid to prescription drugs for all clinical procedures.
The Medical Director, Alimosho GH, Dr. Madewa Adebajo, in his remarks at the formal presentation of the booklet during the Health Management Forum on Wednesday, stated that the launch was a culmination of collective teamwork towards excellent delivery and enjoined all clinicians to support the success of the initiative.
While noting that the Drug formulary booklet was jointly prescribed by all physicians and clinical heads under the aegis of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee within the Alimosho General Hospital, he warned that any alterations to the contents of the booklet will automatically attract punitive measures.
The hospital’s Director of Clinical Services and Training, Dr. Odufunke Odukoya-Maijeh, who formally presented the booklet to the gathering said “This booklet is an aid to prescriptions for all presentations towards patients’ recuperation in this hospital. It has become a formulary which is legally binding and rated by all clinical heads, adequately scrutinised over time and recommended for use”.
“It is, therefore, a penalty if any form of recommendations is extended to the hospital’s clientele, besides the range of highlights in this booklet, by any practicing professional associated with this facility. Such an act is punitive by law and inimical to policies guiding the Medical profession”, she added.
