The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives (MCIC) Mrs. Omobolanle Ogunmola has stressed the need for continued collaboration and development of teamwork as a strategy for effective service delivery.
Ogunmola gave this charge during a familiarisation tour of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), saying that collaboration would help the Agency tap from the wealth of knowledge of other partners and avoid mistakes.
She said that although LASCOPA was set up to protect the rights of consumers in the State through the rendering of free services, the Agency must provide a diligent and effective service delivery system to the general public.
Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary promised to support LASCOPA in the quest to secure offices in the various Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in order to become more accessible to the people.
While commending the Management and staff of the Agency for their efforts so far, she said that more can still be done to position the Agency to improve on its services.
During the event, the General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode introduced the activities of the Agency to the Permanent Secretary, stressing that the Consumer Education, Monitoring and Enforcement Team visits various outlets regularly to enlighten consumers and monitor activities.
On her part, the Chairman Board of LASCOPA, Mrs. Funmi Falana commended the Permanent Secretary for the visit to the Agency, expressing optimism for improved performance under the new dispensation.
