A team from Lagos State Health Service Commission, led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Benjamin Ademuyiwa Eniayewun has visited Isolo General Hospital to inspect its facilities as part of its supervisory role.
Speaking on the visit, Dr. Eniayewun said the purpose was to acquaint himself with the state of affairs and the working conditions of the staff, stressing that a good welfare policy for staff will ensure an increase in productivity as well as prevent leakages.
On the issue of facilities in the hospital, Dr. Eniayewun advised the management to make use of its internally generated revenue to run the hospital, adding that the government will also assist in upgrading the facilities in the establishment.
The Permanent Secretary directed that the Maternal and Child Centre (MCC) of the hospital be given a facelift to make it more befitting in order maintain the hospital’s high-level profile, adding that the management must also embark on the training and retraining of the Medical Officers.
In his response, the Medical Director/CEO of the hospital, Dr Godwin Akhabhoa welcomed Dr. Eniayewun and his team, saying that the hospital is doing everything within its power to improve service delivery to Lagosians, improve facilities as well as enhance the welfare of its staff.
He noted the hospital has been able to achieve a lot in different areas, especially the establishment and introduction of Endoscopy services to meet the needs of some of the patients.
