The Medical Director, General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, Dr. Olusola Amure has solicited for community support and partnership to advance development and improve healthcare services in the hospital.
Speaking at an interactive session with the hospital community stakeholders’ committee, Dr. Amure said the community should take ownership and prevent decay of existing facilities in the hospital, especially drainage channels and parking lots.
He appealed for the provision of palliative measures from the Council Chairman to combat flooding in the hospital premises pending the intervention of the State government.
While disclosing that the hospital will soon commence dental services for the people in the community, the Medical Director also canvassed for speed breakers on the hospital road in order to check excessive and reckless driving by motorists in the axis.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the Supervisor for Agric, Social Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Femi Afikuyomi, assured the participants that the Council Chairman has concluded plans to ameliorate some of the issues raised by the Medical Director.
Afikuyomi also thanked the hospital for responding swiftly to victims of the Iju-Ishaga gas explosion, reiterating that the Community and the Council will not relent in supporting the hospital to enhance service delivery.
Also present at the meeting were members of the Community Development Committee, Youth Leaders, Religious Leaders and representatives of Traditional Rulers and the Medical Officer, Ifako-Ijaiye Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr. Fausat Sanni, among others.
