IJEDE GH REITERATES COMMITMENT TO INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

The Medical Director/ CEO, General Hospital, Ijede, Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole has reiterated the commitment of the management to continually improve on infrastructural development and services in the hospital.

Speaking at Third Stakeholders’ Forum organised by the hospital, on Tuesday, at the Ijede Local Government Council Secretariat, Dr. Bankole stated that management had upgraded some facilities, as well as acquired modern medical equipment within the past 12 months, as part of efforts to enhance service delivery and prevent residents from travelling long distances for qualitative healthcare services.

“Some of the infrastructural developments and services embarked on include the upgrade of the conference room, the building of an isolation centre for suspected COVID-19 patients, the upgrade of the theatre with a brand new anaesthetic machine, suction machine, the ophthalmic microscope for eye and other operations, ophthalmological and dental services among others”, she said.

Dr. Bankole acknowledged the unflinching support of the State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye and the Leadership of the Health Service Commission in the acquisition of the new equipment and provision of support in rendering unique services to patients.

She, however, identified space as a major constraint faced by the facility, stressing that more space is needed for expansion and improvement in access to qualitative healthcare services for the community.
