
KOSOFE CHAIRMAN SUPPORTS EKO SOCIAL HEALTH ALLIANCE WITH 300 VULNERABLE ENROLMENTS

The Chairman, Kosofe Local Government Area, Engr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has supported EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) with an additional free enrolment for 300 vulnerable in a bid to ensure that more vulnerable persons in the local government have unhindered access to healthcare.
The Chairman, who announced that he would pay for the enrolment of an additional 300 vulnerable persons during the EKOSHA Community Storm advocacy held at Kosofe LGA commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to ensuring access to good health care.
The free onboarding of the vulnerable on the health scheme, according to him, has truly demonstrated that the mantra of the Agency, leaving no one behind, is achievable.
Hon. Ogunlewe said that the people of the local government would remember the kind gesture of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other laudable developments that the administration has done in the local government.
He said that the Local Government, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda of Mr. Governor, has given priority to the health of the people living in the community, adding that his administration had recently distributed 1,200 free eyeglasses to the residents, provided ambulance under Kosofe Health support and built a health centre in Oworonshoki in conjunction with Access Bank.
The General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, in her remarks, commended the Chairman of Kosofe local government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, for supporting EKOSHA, an initiative of the Agency, aimed at providing a sustainable structure for the implementation of free ILERA EKO Health plans for the vulnerable and indigent in the State as well as raising funds for their enrolment on the Lagos State Health Scheme.
She called on other influential people, community leaders and corporate organisations among others to emulate the Chairman and support the Lagos State Government in order to give hope to the vulnerable in the area of health insurance.
Dr. Zamba said that interested leaders and members of the community can partner with EKOSHA by either contributing funds on behalf of groups, families or individuals in need and also empowering the vulnerable or providing the tool of empowerment for distribution to the vulnerable just like the ongoing 1,000 Point of Sales (POS) system distributed to vulnerable in each local government and local council development area courtesy of First City Monument Bank.

Dr. Zamba assured donors that the process is seamless and that for accountability, donors are provided with quarterly reports on how their funds are utilised.
The General Manager commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for providing funds for the enrolment of the vulnerable in the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in order to ensure that the vulnerable equally enjoy quality healthcare via ILERA EKO.
She said that with EKOSHA and ILERA EKO, there is no doubt that Lagos State is on the right path to accelerate the advancement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) which will guarantee unhindered access to qualitative and already affordable healthcare for all the vulnerable residents.
The Baale of Araromi Sawmill Gbagada, Chief Onalaja Oriole Ambali, appealed to the beneficiaries to utilise the hospitals whenever they are sick rather than indulging in self-medication. He added that Government wants everybody in the State to be healthy because healthy people make a healthy State.
He said that the present administration led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has the love of the residents of the State at heart and that is why he is giving the vulnerable free health insurance on a platter of gold.
