EDUCATION DISTRICT II HOSTS BRAIN TEASER COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS

The Lagos State Education District II has once again organised the Brain Teaser lite competition tagged: “Know Your Heroes and Heroines”, for schools in the District at the Immaculate Heart Comprehensive High School Hall, Maryland.

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mrs Anike Adekanye, while addressing the students at the venue of the competition, stressed that it was important for them to know more about past Heroes, especially of Lagos State and the Nation.

Her words, “We have brought you together to get you acquainted with personalities who have at one time or the other, in the history of Lagos State and Nigeria, contributed immensely to the growth and development of the nation”.

She noted that getting to know about these personalities will help a great deal in inspiring and shaping the lives of the students and further help in preparing them for their future roles in society.

“Knowing your Heroes and Heroes, and how they have impacted society through their struggles and achievements can inspire and motivate you to make positive changes in your own lives and communities”.

She opined that Heroes often represent the values, culture, and identity of a society. Therefore, understanding their contributions helps people feel pride and connection to their heritage. “Heroes often made sacrifices or overcame significant challenges. Studying their lives can teach you valuable lessons about resilience, leadership, and courage”.

The TG/PS further advised and encouraged them to be attentive and take note of everything they learn during the programme, urging them to put more effort into their studies, stay focused and be prayerful as this will help them to attain greatness. “Stay curious and keep learning, the world is full of opportunities and knowledge. Embrace curiosity, ask questions and be prayerful”, she stated.
