ELEVATE YOUR CRAFT – LASG CHARGES TECHNICIANS

The Lagos State Government has challenged technicians in the State to elevate their craft and ensure that they keep up to date on developments in their trade, as this represents the pathway to promoting efficient and effective service delivery.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Engr. Olayinka Adekunle gave the charge while declaring open a five-day Expert Training for Electricians, Plumbers, Technicians and Carpenters organised by the Office of Works, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. 


The training programme, which is the first of its kind in the annals of the Office with the theme: “Elevate Your Craft”, had participants drawn from various fields in the building Industry including Plumbers, Electricians, Air-conditioning Technicians as well as Carpenters.


The programme features an impressive lineup of speakers, including well-known experts and thought leaders in the built sector and was an enriching experience, with a packed agenda featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, team building & bonding as well as networking sessions. 


The Special Adviser on Works, Engr. Adekunle Olayinka inaugurated the programme with a keynote address, emphasising the importance of elevating crafts and trade in today’s fast-paced, artificial intelligence-dominated world. 


According to Olayinka, the programme is a testament to the State Government’s commitment to excellence and innovation. 
He said, “We are thrilled to bring together such a diverse group of professionals to share ideas that will foster goodwill and sustain mutual relationships amidst teammates”.


Olayinka, while imploring the participants to be actively involved in the proceedings, expressed optimism that the investment in training will yield great dividends in the long run promote professional excellence at the various duty posts and will also increase productivity. 


He challenged the participants to show necessary appreciation for the support by taking one new skill or idea learnt during the Programme and applying it to a real-world project within the next 30 days.


The Permanent Secretary, Office of Works, Arch. Adebayo Odusanya said, “We are excited to host this Programme and provide a platform for professionals to grow, learn, and network. We look forward to a productive and enriching five days, and we are confident that this training will have a lasting impact on our industry”.
