The Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer, Dr. Folayinka Dania represented by the team lead, Mr. Michael Oluwatosin Oluwole, educated the gathering on resilience, shocks, stresses and need to adopt resilience thinking in their day to day activities. He further emphasised the importance of resilience in Lagos State’s economic growth and development. “By integrating resilience into your business strategies, you contribute to the state’s ability to withstand and adapt to challenges”.
Oluwole informed LASAFA members about the various Lagos State interventions aimed at strengthening their resilience capacity. Some of these include State efforts at clearing drainage and channelling canals to combat flooding, availing residents with Ilera Eko (Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme) to take care of their health needs, Lagos Employment Trust Fund for single-digit interest loans among many others
LASAFA President, Mr. Adebayo Kayode expressed pleasure for the partnership with Lagos State and appreciates the ingenuity of LASRO staff in the discharge of their official duties. According to Adebayo, “We recognize the value of resilience thinking in our industry and commit to working with LASRO to enhance our members’ capacity.”
LASAFA President further charged his members to always embrace what the Lagos State Government is doing because they mean well.
According to him, “You can see what they have been saying from teaching us how we can survive and grow in everything we do regardless of any unwholesome occurrence, informing about LSETF single digit interest loans to make our businesses grow among other useful and eye-opening information we have today. I urge you all to embrace the government’s advice. The Government means well”.
Mr. Ayuba Isiaka, the Secretary of the Association, Mr. Edo Francis and Tunde Badmus of LASAFA from different parts of Lagos State expressed great gratitude for having LASRO team address them and a whole lot of laudable information.
The engagement demonstrates LASRO’s commitment to mainstreaming resilience across sectors, ensuring Lagos State’s continued growth and prosperity.
