PMO BEGINS INSPECTION, MONITORING OF MDAs PROJECTS, FINANCES 


The Lagos State Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO), has commenced its quarterly monitoring and inspection of projects, finances, and activities of all government agencies under its supervision in the State. 


The Permanent Secretary of the Office, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina, in a meeting with officials of the office on the inspection to exercise, emphasised that the present administration in the State aims to lay a very solid foundation for a world-class economy. 

He said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu wants a smart city that would be able to compete with other world-class destination areas around the world in the areas of infrastructure transportation, security, education, tourism, sports, entertainment and all other activities of a smart city. 


Dr. Aina maintained that the aforementioned is only possible when all Agencies and Parastatals perform their revenue generation duties, adding that the monitoring exercise would ensure that all Parastatals /Agencies and other organisations comply with Government Financial guidelines. 

He added that PMO will also ensure compliance with other financial and procurement instructions to ascertain that all projects embarked upon are monitored effectively to achieve a world-class city of Lagos and complement Mr. Governor’s THEMES Plus Agenda. 


The Permanent Secretary, therefore,  urged all Accounting Officers and General Managers in all Agencies /Parastatals to cooperate with the inspection team and officers from PMO for the success of the exercise. 

Recall that PMO has the mandate to coordinate the activities of all Parastatals/Agencies of the State Government, which includes but is not limited to revenue generation, monitoring, and reporting to the Governor on the performances of the various agencies.
