The Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, has said that Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, will continue to tackle all challenges of unemployment in the State.
Mrs. Arobieke spoke during the commencement of an IT Empowerment training programme organised in collaboration with Messrs Roseate-Forte Limited and Jordan 105.5 FM, for youths drawn from the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in the State.
The Commissioner said the training, which was done at zero cost to the Ministry, is expected to empower, mentor and expose the participants to jobs and employment opportunities, whilst also enabling them to learn and acquire the practical experience and competence for today’s workplace.
She commended Roseate Forte Ltd, a training partner of Jordan 105.5FM Radio Station and an affiliate of London Corporate Training (LCT) UK, for collaborating with the Ministry to train youths based on the enormous deliverables attached to the programme, noting that the initiative would create jobs and self-employment in the State.
Noting that the programme would be aired live on Jordan 105.5FM Radio Station to promote empowerment and employability, Mrs. Arobieke stated that the success stories will also be shared on social media platforms.
Applauding the partners, the Commissioner said, “This noble cause is laudable and, as a Ministry with the mandate to upskill and tackle unemployment, we welcome more of such collaborations”, she said.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Kafayat Ajenifuja, in her closing remarks, advised the trainees to maximise the inherent opportunities of the programme to advance their aspirations for self-sufficiency.
