… Tasks Inductees to Seek Requisite Knowledge
The Lagos State Auditor-General, Mrs. H.M Deile, over the weekend, applauded the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), for keeping faith in its human capital development agenda to support the country’s ailing economy.
Deile, who gave the commendation in her address at the 44th induction ceremony of new inductees of the CITN, held at the Lagoon Restaurant, Victoria Island Lagos, added that the achievement was more compelling in view of the global pandemic disrupting all spheres of life while ushering in a ‘new normal’ in the past 15 months.
She said, “I want to believe that your embrace of the right technologies must have aided your ability to fulfil the desire of your numerous students, some of whom are here today to be inducted as Associate members of the Institute”.
Mrs. Deile tasked the new inductees to see their induction as a new beginning and strive to seek requisite knowledge to thrive as professionals in the new world order.
“While you all bask in the euphoria of this present encomium and accolade, I will like to advise you to hold tenaciously to the virtues of sheer diligence, integrity, honesty, astuteness and professionalism. You must recognise that the forerunners and fathers of the tax profession in Nigeria built the profession and the institute by embracing and adhering to the stated qualities”, she stated.
Urging the inductees to embrace technology as they acquire more knowledge, continuous professional development, change and self-discipline, Deile enjoined them to continue to carry the torch and make the profession and institute appealing to future generations.
