LAGOS TO REGENERATE UNCOMPLETED PROJECTS IN AMUKOKO, SARI-IGANMU

In continuation of efforts to complete projects initiated by the defunct Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (LMDGP), the management of Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) has embarked on a feasibility tour of Amukoko blighted community in Ifelodun LCDA and Sari-Iganmu slum area in Apapa-Iganmu LCDA. 

Speaking during the tour, the General Manager of the Agency, Ms. Ajibike Shomade, reaffirmed that the State Government is determined to regenerate the roads and the canals as well as provide other infrastructure to improve the lives of community dwellers, adding that the Agency plans to begin the renewal project in the year 2022.

Ms. Shomade listed the projects, which the Agency plans to regenerate and complete to include Edidi Street, Edidi link-Canal, Edidi Close, Mission Street, Adegboyega Street, Bolu Ojora Street and Aniyaloye Street among others in Amukoko, Ifelodun LCDA.

Others, according to her, are Obale Street and Adetola Street among several others in Sari-Iganmu, Apapa Iganmu LCDA.

A Community Leader, Alhaji Fatai Sumonu, who spoke on behalf of the residents thanked the Lagos State Government for not forgetting the abandoned projects, noting that the regeneration would contribute immensely to the socio-economic improvement of the community.

He, however, urged the government to do all in its power to complete the project on time for the benefit of residents.
