LASG TRAINS STAFF TO IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY
The Lagos State Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments has commenced a three-day in-house training for its Administrative and Human Resource Staff.
In his address at the training programme with the theme “Workplace Ethics: A Tool for Effective Employee Performance”, the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Mr. Obafemi Ogunlana, said the exercise was organised for Secretaries, Clerical Officers, Drivers, Security Personnel and Cleaners in line with the Public Service policy on capacity building and with a view to improving their productivity.
He stated that the objectives of the exercise were to introduce participants to the nitty-gritty of record-keeping, improve work ethics, effective communication, work-life balance, building emotional intelligence for better performance and efficient service delivery.
Ogunlane averred that the training was also geared towards exposing participants to best practices, good work ethics and acceptable behaviour in the Public Service, urging the attendees to make the best use of the knowledge acquired to enhance service delivery.
The training programme focused on generic and professional topics that will enhance performance of the participants at work.
