EID-EL KABIR: COKER CALLS FOR STRONG LEADERSHIP
… Urges Youths to Emulate Exemplary Role Models like Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
As Muslims all over the world celebrate this year’s Eid-El Kabir, the Executive Secretary of Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Ms. Folasade Coker has called on youths in Lagos State and beyond to emulate the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) to become better leaders of tomorrow.
Coker also urged the Muslim faithful to imbibe all the tenets of the Eid-El Kabir including devotion to Allah, fulfillment of promises made, obedience and love for others, adding that there is much more to the occasion than dining and wining.
In a statement made available to the press, the Executive Secretary noted that there was a need for Nigerian youth to live a purpose-driven life that continues to reverberate through the echoes of time just like Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Coker, who is the head of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, established to nurture youths to become better leaders in society, added that the Academy established by the present administration was critical for the development of Lagos State and the future of Nigeria as a whole.
While expressing optimism on the new set of leadership rising in the country’s political space, the Executive Secretary urged all and sundry to work in tandem towards bequeathing a better Nigerian to those coming behind.
She said: “Elections are never the end but just a means to an end and that is to demonstrate good leadership that serves the people and brings in tangible democratic deliverables. This explains why every one of us must rise and lead within our own micro and macro spaces”.
She, therefore, charged Muslims and non-Muslims alike especially those in the youth bracket to use the opportunity of Sallah festivity to deliberately work towards becoming the change they want to see.
