LASG ASSURES RESIDENT DOCTORS OF CONTINUED CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Olawale Musa, has said that the State Government would continue to have a cordial and harmonious relationship with resident doctors in the State. 

He made the promise when the Association of Resident Doctors of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) paid him a courtesy visit today in his office at Alausa, Ikeja.  

Musa noted that the State Government knows the importance of having industrial peace which the State has been enjoying since the beginning of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Administration and would do everything possible to maintain it. 

He disclosed that the request made by the resident doctors for the Medical Residence Training Fund (MRFT) for 2023 had been forwarded to the appropriate authorities for approval, promising to make efforts to accelerate the process for quick response. 

Musa expressed appreciation to the Executive of the Association for the visit and assured them of his continued support and cooperation. He affirmed that he would enhance the harmonious relationship that had existed between the State Government and the Association.

In his remark, the President of the Association of Resident Doctors (LASUTH-ARD), Dr. Abeeb Salmon commended and appreciated the Lagos State Government, especially the Ministry of Establishments and Training, for the long years of mutual relationship between them, requested for continued cooperation between the two entities. 

Whilst disclosing that the Association is planning to host the National Association of Resident Doctors this month where important dignitaries including the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would be in attendance, he sought the support of the State Government for the funding of the event which he estimated to gulp N35million.
