The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mr. Abayomi Abolaji has reiterated the present administration’s commitment to free and qualitative education across the State.

Abolaji stated this during his monitoring of the conduct of the year 2023 Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) at designated Schools’ Centres.

While addressing a large number of Parents/Guardians and Stakeholders at EKO AKETE Grammar school, Lagos Island, he emphasised that the government will continue to drive its policy of “Leave no Child Behind” initiative to accommodate the Primary Six Pupils who have completed their six years at Primary Level and are to be placed into Government Public Secondary Schools in the State for the Year 2023/2024 Academic Session.

Maintaining that Lagos State Government has greatly improved the education sector, the Permanent Secretary disclosed that children from both Public and Approved Private Schools are sitting for the examination.

Mr. Abayomi also informed that 176,316 candidates were duly registered for the examination but 250,000 were estimated by the Ministry of Education to meet up with the state’s policy while 405 centres across the State were provided for the test.

He also gave satisfactory remarks on the conduct of the examination, noting that the environment is very conducive and the sitting arrangements of the candidates were properly done to avoid examination malpractices.
