The Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Surv. Ayokunnu Adesina has hosted the executives from the Geoinformation Society of Nigeria as part of plans to establish a partnership that will enhance service delivery in the industry.
Welcoming the team, Surv. Adesina promised to initiate an enlightenment campaign that would sensitise the general public about the functions of both institutions and their importance in the industry.
He expressed the need to educate Lagosians on the roles of Surveyors, whether in public or private practice and the interconnectivity of their functions with other geoinformation professionals in the society.
Surv. Adesina urged the visiting team to promote synergy and professional collaboration for effective performance amongst Geoinformation practitioners in the State.
Responding, the President of the Geo-Information Society of Nigeria, Dr Fitka Biltshakka, said his team’s visit was aimed at establishing a good working relationship with the Office of the State Surveyor-General while calling on the staff of the Office of the State Surveyor-General to enrol as members of the society.
