HEALTH DISTRICT III MOBILISES STAKEHOLDERS AHEAD OF SUPPLEMENTAL IMMUNISATION ACTIVITIES

… Holds Quarterly Stakeholders Meetings in Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Eti-Osa

Lagos State Health District III has called on residents of Epe, Ibeju-Lekki and Eti-Osa to actively participate in the upcoming Supplemental Immunization Activities (SIA) aimed at protecting the population from preventable diseases.

The Permanent Secretary of the District, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made the call while addressing community leaders and traditional rulers during its Quarterly Stakeholders Meeting, emphasising the importance of the upcoming Immunization Campaign.

She noted that this initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of its citizens, particularly in combating preventable diseases and building a stronger, healthier Lagos.

Dr. Adeleke also used the forum to highlight the district’s progress on key health initiatives, focusing on the significance of the forthcoming immunisation drive, revealing that the campaign will target vaccines for measles, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and yellow fever, all of which pose significant risks if left unchecked.

She stressed that these diseases remain a serious threat, particularly to vulnerable groups like children and adults who have not yet been immunised. The goal of the campaign is to safeguard communities across Lagos, especially in underserved areas.

Dr. Adeleke urged the stakeholders to mobilise their communities for full participation in the immunisation exercise, emphasising that grassroots engagement is key to the campaign’s success.

“We are counting on your collaboration to ensure maximum participation. Immunisation is a crucial step in preventing life-threatening diseases and creating healthier communities. By providing access to essential vaccines, the government is reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the health and future of its people”, she added.
