The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has joined its contemporaries across the globe to celebrate the Y2024 Hand Washing Day.
The General Manager of the Agency, Engr. Adefemi Afolabi, while speaking on the global event, said the benefits of proper hand washing cannot be over-emphasised.
He added that hand washing or hand hygiene is very important to the health and well-being of every citizen, stressing that it is important to note that hand washing and hygiene must be prioritised and strategically integrated into our daily lives.
Engr. Afolabi, therefore, encouraged Lagosians to support proper global hand-washing practices and promote disease prevention among residents of the State.
The year 2024, Global Handwashing Day, themed: “Why Are Clean Hands Still Important?” underscores the critical role of hand hygiene in preventing infections, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recall that the annual event is globally celebrated on October 15.
