Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) Mrs. Bolaji
Dada has commended the team from the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) led by the Director of Finance and Operations, Mr. Omoniyi Ayeni during a courtesy visit by the group to the Ministry on Friday.
She stated the reason for the visit is in line with the ongoing commitment to empowering women and addressing family health issues in Lagos State. The Commissioner expressed gratitude for ARFH’s persistent efforts in advocating for reproductive health and enhancing the quality of life for families across the federation.
She said the Ministry values the incredible work that ARFH does and recognized that their commitment aligns perfectly with WAPA’s goals which are to uplift women and alleviate poverty.
Reiterating the Ministry’s dedication to fostering a deeper collaboration with the ARFH team, Dada averred that WAPA is eager to explore new avenues for partnership, sharing our resources and expertise to make a more substantial impact on the lives of women and families.
The Commissioner said there’s already an existing relationship with ARFH, and together, they can create sustainable solutions for reproductive healthcare, emphasising the importance of continued dialogue and joint initiatives between the Ministry and ARFH to ensure that together, they can address pressing issues such as maternal health, family planning, and educational outreach.
Hon. Dada stated that the strength of the partnership would be rooted in their shared vision for a healthy, prosperous community.
Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo said the meeting was a move in the right direction to further enhance collaborative strategies.
Still speaking, she said the Ministry looks forward to implementing joint programmes and initiatives that will truly transform the landscape of women’s health and family welfare in the state.
In his remarks, Mr. Omoniyi Ayeni stated that the primary objective for the visit was to ensure that advocacy is focused on their programmes while enhancing collaboration with the Ministry.
