Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary, Ms. Moronke Azeez said the retirees who have been part of LASTVEB’s success were honoured for their commitment, expertise, and outstanding contributions to technical and vocational education in Lagos State. Their tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the board and have positively impacted the lives of countless students.

“We are immensely proud of the retirees’ contributions to LASTVEB and the field of technical and vocational education. Their years of service have helped shape the future of our board and have laid a strong foundation for the generations to come”, she said

The retirement ceremony was a fitting tribute to the exceptional individuals and provided an opportunity for colleagues, friends, and family members to gather and express their appreciation for the retirees’ remarkable careers.

The event was filled with heartfelt speeches, touching anecdotes, and well-deserved accolades, highlighting the retirees’ dedication, professionalism, and significant achievements. They were presented with various gifts including Certificates of Service from the Office of the Head of Service (HOS).

The representative of the Head of Service, Mrs. Ebunoluwa Aina implored the retirees to prioritise their health as they embark on the new chapter of their lives and wished them a fulfilling and joyous retirement. “The state government will always be checking on you through phone calls periodically especially during your birthdays and for affirmation of some processes”.

She also mentioned that their legacy will forever be cherished and their impact will continue to shape the landscape of technical and vocational education in Lagos State.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mrs. Olubunmi Bada, former Director of Curriculum and Examinations, LASTVEB, appreciated the State Government for the opportunity allowed them to serve and for organising a befitting retirement ceremony for them on their exit from the service.

She prayed for LASTVEB and Lagos State to continue to move from strength to strength so that Technical and Vocational education can continue to thrive in the state.
