AJAH/LEKKI DEVELOPERS ASSOCIATION DONATES EXCAVATOR TO LASBCA

The Ajah/Lekki Developers Association, Sapata Town, Lagos, has donated a new excavator to the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in support of its activities.

Speaking on the donation at the Agency’s Head Office in GRA, Ikeja, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. (Dr.) Idris Salako, said the donated CAT 320D Excavator will go a long way in ensuring that the Agency carries out its mandate more effectively, as critically distressed and defective structures can be pulled down immediately after being detected.

He expressed his gratitude to the Association for supporting the State Government’s efforts to sanitise the built sector, calling on other welling meaning individuals, corporate organisations and groups to emulate the noble gesture.

On his part, the General Manager of Lagos State Building Control Agency, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, said the donation of the excavator could not have come at a better time as the machinery will enhance the service delivery of the Agency.

Applauding the Association for the gift, Oki assured the general public of LASBCA’s readiness to stem cases of collapse building promptly by identifying and removing defective structures in every part of the State.

He emphasised that the Agency will continue to do its best in ensuring safer, healthier and habitable buildings through inspection, monitoring and enforcement of both existing buildings and structures under construction.

The General Manager, therefore, implored Lagos residents to strictly adhere to the State Building Codes during construction and report any distressed or illegal buildings in their localities.
