AWARENESS MONTH: DSVA EMBARKS ON ADVOCACY WALK

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) on Thursday embarked on an Advocacy Walk tagged: “Turn Alausa Purple” within the State Secretariat, as part of activities commemorating Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month.

The Executive Secretary, Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, spoke during the advocacy walk, saying the exercise was designed to sensitise all civil servants on the need to end the menace of sexual and gender-based violence in the State.

Reiterating that DSVA has recorded over 4000 cases of sexual and gender-based violence within and outside Lagos, Vivour-Adeniyi appealed to all residents to always report cases of domestic and sexual violence to the agency for prompt action.

Civil Servants from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies joined the advocacy walk and adorned a purple ribbon in commemoration of the awareness month with the theme: “It’s on us”.
