FINANCIAL SUPPORT: LASG PRESENTS CHEQUES TO ANOTHER 175 BENEFICIARIES OF “SANWO-OLU LISTENS” INITIATIVE 

In a continuous demonstration of its unwavering commitment to the welfare of Lagosians, the Lagos State Government, through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, has presented cheques to another 175 beneficiaries of the Sanwo-Olu Listens social intervention programme. 

Addressing the beneficiaries during the event held recently at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen stated that the present Administration is committed to listening to the cries of Lagosians. 

“We understand that many of our citizens face challenges that require immediate attention. The Sanwo-Olu Listens programme is our promise to you that we are here to help. Today, we take a significant step forward in ensuring that your voices are heard and your needs are met”, he said.

Reiterating Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to addressing the needs and concerns of the citizens, the Special Adviser averred that the Sanwo-Olu Listens Social Intervention programme is one of the various ongoing efforts of the Lagos State Government to foster an inclusive environment where every vulnerable citizens can thrive and better their lives in the face of the present economic challenges.

“The population of Lagos is growing every day and despite that, Mr. Governor is working towards putting smiles on the faces of Lagosians. Part of this is the re-opening of the Ounje-Eko Market and the Sanwo-Olu Listens Social Intervention programme which we are having here today. More plans are already in the pipeline to further engage with citizens and address their concerns”, he affirmed.

While highlighting the benefits of registering with ILERA – EKO Health Scheme, Afolabi noted that the price of the Ilera – Eko Health insurance scheme is very affordable and subsidised by the Government to ensure that everyone can access premium healthcare and reduce huge payment of medical bills.

Expressing his delight, one of the beneficiaries Mr. Odunuga Oladipupo, said he was impressed and overwhelmed with joy and will remain grateful for the support given to him, revealing that the fund will help in expanding his small-scale business.

Mrs. Habiba Salamonu Musa, also one of the beneficiaries, said she applied for the fund to take care of her ailing heart and appreciates the Lagos State Government for the laudable gesture extended to her.
