HAJJ 2022: LAGOS CIVIL SERVANT BAGS PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER’S AWARD


 
The Head of Public Affairs, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Taofeek Lawal, has been nominated for the ‘Best States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Public Relations Officers’ award for the Y2022 Hajj exercise by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR).

A letter signed by Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed on behalf of the planning committee said the award would be presented to the recipient at the Annual Award ceremony, which comes up on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the auditorium of the National Mosque, Abuja.

Conveying the decision to the recipient, the letter said, “We are delighted to inform you that the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), after a thorough peer review, has nominated you for an award as ‘Best States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards Public Relations Officer’ during the 2022 Hajj”.

Mohammed stated further that the honour is in recognition of the uncommon dedication and professionalism displayed by the recipient throughout the Y2022 Hajj exercise.

The statement said that the Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour while Alhaji Abubakar Bobboi Jijiwa, former Director General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), will chair the occasion.

Also expected as Guests of Honour are His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, Governor of Katsina State and his counterpart from Nassarawa State, His Excellency, Alh. Abdullahi Sule.

The Guest Speaker is Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force while Alh. Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, Chairman/CEO National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is the Chief Host.

The Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) is an assemblage of Muslim journalists who have covered the activities of NAHCON and other States’ Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards during Hajj operations in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
