Bolade Junior Grammar School, Oshodi, a public school in Lagos State has emerged as the Best Public Junior Secondary School in the Federation at the Y2021 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award (PTSEA) held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Similarly, Mrs. Temitope Salmot Obiwumi emerged as the 2nd runner up, Best Teacher in Public Junior Secondary Schools, while Mr. Rasheed Odenike clinched the 4thposition, Best Teacher in Public Senior Secondary Schools at the Presidential Teachers’ Award for Y2021.
Reacting to the delightful news, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, attributed the success of the school and the teachers to the significant transformation and huge investment of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration in the last two years.
The Commissioner noted that Lagos State recording outstanding performances and winning laurels in various competitions and award ceremonies at National and International levels in recent times is a testament to the efforts and collective commitment of the State Government in enhancing the education sector.
Mrs. Adefisayo commended the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Mrs. Okelola Oludara, for her dedication and proactiveness in managing the affairs of schools under her district, saying the district made Lagos proud as the overall best Public School in the Federation.
She lauded the efforts of the Principal, Mrs. Lateefat Adenike Ojo and other teachers, noting that they play major roles in the success of the school.
The Commissioner, therefore, charged all public schools not to rest on their oars as there is still more work to be done in attaining greater heights.
Apart from the awards given to the teachers and the School for their exemplary performance in the Education Sector, the school also won a Coaster Bus for its effort.
