Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro has urged Public Servants to continue to work as a team, with a shared vision and purpose, to build a Lagos that fulfils the aspirations of its citizens.
Agoro gave the charge on Friday, at the Special Jum’ah Service, held in celebration of the 2024 Public Service Week at the Lagos State Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja, stressing that the State Government remains committed to promoting a supportive work environment that would guarantee Public Servants’ optimal performance and aid effective service delivery to all residents.
Expressing gratitude to all Public Servants who have been working assiduously towards effective Governance and efficient delivery of essential services to all residents of our great State, Agoro maintained that all staff of the State Government deserve to be celebrated.
He stressed further that the Special Jum’ah Service provides a moment to reflect upon the invaluable contributions of the Public Servants in Lagos State and to seek divine blessings upon their continued endeavours.
The Head of Service also expressed gratitude to Allah (SWT) for granting the State Public Service the opportunity to witness this year’s celebration and for His guidance throughout the event.
He, however, encouraged Muslims to embrace Islamic teachings on integrity, humility, sincerity and transparency, as these principles are essential for strengthening Public Service in challenging times.
Also, speaking at the Jum’ah Service, the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, noted that the Public Servants remain an integral part of nation-building and urged them to be diligent as well as prayerful while carrying out their duties for the progress of the State.
