LASG COMMENCES Y2023 REVISED STRUCTURED TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR PROMOTION
The Lagos State Government has commenced the Y2023 Promotion Exercise for Officers on Grade Levels 01-16 in Parastatal Organisations as well as those on Grade Levels 01-05 in the mainstream Public Service under the Revised Structured Training Programme.
The exercise, which started today was held concurrently at the Public Service Staff Development (PSSDC) and Women Development Centre (WDC) and will end on 24th July, 2023.
The training programme comprises sessions that are aimed at enlightening officers on the activities of the State Government and Job Specific Sessions to have more robust exercises in addition to the generic training.
At the PSSDC, there will be one training session with a series of sub-sessions for Officers on Grade Level 10-16 and this will run from Monday to Friday except for Wednesday and Thursday which will be for job-specific sessions. Whilst the Women Development Centre will have two sessions for Officers on Grade Level 01-05.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Olawale Musa was at the Public Service Staff Development Centre and Women Development Centre, venues of the programme to flag off the exercise.
In his address to participants at the event, he stated that the Revised Structured Training Programme was introduced to replace the written promotion examination which used to be the yardstick for promotion.
Whilst admonishing officers to be good ambassadors of the State Government and project the image of the government in a positive light to the citizens in their various duty posts, Musa disclosed that the training programme would help officers in their career progression, imploring officers to be attentive and take what would be taught seriously.
Also present at the flag-off of the promotion exercise was the Director-General of the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) Mr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses; Director of Establishments in the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Bukola Olagbaju and Director of Public Affairs in the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Dele Balogun.
Recall that the Civil Service Commission conducted and recently concluded the same programme for Officers on Grade Levels 06-16 in the Mainstream Civil Service which serves as a precursor to those in the Parastatal Organisations which is being handled by the Ministry of Establishments and Training.
