LASG ORGANISES TWO-DAY TRAINING ON WORK ETHICS, EMPLOYEE WELLNESS FOR AUDITORS
As part of efforts to broaden and improve the knowledge of Auditors in the State Civil Service, the Office of the State Auditor-General has organised a two-day training programme with the theme: “Improvement of Work Ethics through the Employee Wellness Programme” for staff.
Speaking at the commencement of the programme held at the State Treasury Office’s Resource Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary, Office of the State Auditor-General, Mr. Adewuyi Moshood Adewale reiterated the importance of continuous training for Auditors, especially on wellness, to organisational productivity in both the public and private sector in the country.
According to him, the training was organised by the Office of the State Auditor-General, in collaboration with Messrs Mosabaaj and Associates, to improve the knowledge and wellness of employees towards increased productivity, stressing that the Auditors need to take care of their health to be able to discharge their duties effectively
In his words: “The training will help to improve Auditors’ mental capacity, wellness, boost their morale and enhance their productivity. If you look at the topics outlined for the training, they were specifically chosen and related to staff wellness and wellbeing”.
The State Auditor-General averred that employees are very important in any organisation because without them the organisation cannot achieve its set goals and objectives. This underscores the need to always give priority attention to improving staff wellness through periodic workshops and training programmes.
Adewuyi further stated that the training will also help towards improving the state’s revenue and expenditure through proper audit examinations. “Our objective is to be able to audit and examine, review the expenditure and revenue of Lagos State to ensure that there is no mismanagement and that the revenue is complete while the expenditure is used for the right purpose”, Adewuyi added.
